Service Industry Technology Mentors Program: Cohort 2 Training

Connected Canadians, supported by the City of Ottawa, New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) and the Ottawa Community Foundation (OCF), will train out of work hospitality industry workers on how to become Connected Canadian Technology Mentors.

Our second group of Technology Mentors in-training will learn how to best serve our clients remotely by learning the tools and techniques required to teach and support older adults with technology in a virtual setting.

Connected Canadians Co-founder and CEO, Emily Jones Joanisse, will be speaking as a part of the virtual “Staying Connected TedX Ottawa 2020 Event”.

Emily will be discussing Connected Canadians and its focus on increasing digital literacy skills amongst seniors and older adults, her broad history in the field of technology, her passions and how they led her to build, along with co-founder Tas Damen, a free service to help teach and connect our countries most vulnerable demographic.
