Indigenous Knowledge Sharing Volunteer Mentor Training

Working with Elders and other leaders from Indigenous communities, Connected Canadians is offering a unique stream of our volunteer training program specifically for use within Canadian Indigenous communities.

The goal of this program is to promote intergenerational knowledge sharing, a valuable exchange, from an Indigenous cultural approach. Indigenous community members will be trained as Connected Canadian mentors. While Indigenous mentors provide Elders with mentorship in digital literacy skills, more opportunities are created for Elders to share stories, cultural knowledge, and traditional teachings to their mentors. Connected Canadians works with each community to ensure that ongoing mentoring initiatives are Indigenous-led and participants are evaluated by members of their own communities that have a holistic and comprehensive sense of community needs.
