MROO Workshop Series
As part of our new partnership with MROO, Connected Canadians will be hosting 8 interactive digital literacy workshops in 2025 on Zoom to help MROO Members improve their digital literacy. These webinars will cover a wide variety of technology topics. Each workshop will encourage active participation and will include time for an active Q&A so that members’ individual questions can be answered in real time.
These interactive webinars will start at 10AM (EST) and will end at 11AM (EST) following the schedule below.

February 25th, 10am EST - ChatGPT & AI: Navigating The Digital Conversation

March 25th, 10am EST - Preparing to Learn Online
Discover how to use your browser as a tool to explore the wealth of information on the internet while learning how to find, bookmark, and share reliable information.
April 29th, 10am EST - Introduction to Zoom
Learn the basics of using Zoom, including what Zoom is, how to get Zoom, how to best use this video conferencing tool, and many fun and helpful tips and tricks!
May 27th, 10am EST - Phishing Scams
Learn how to recognize phishing scams and helpful prevention tips to protect yourself when navigating the digital world. Discuss the different types of common phishing scams, the telltale signs you may have encountered each type of phishing attempt, and how to handle each attempt moving forward to help protect more folks online.
June 17th, 10am EST - Digital Documents
Discover how to create, organize, and securely store digital documents to preserve important information. Explore popular tools and platforms, including cloud-based services, to share and access your files seamlessly across devices and online.
August 26th, 10am EST - Recognizing Fake News
Learn how to be critical of what you read and see online! Recognize the signs that information is not credible, is biased or incorrect to easily identify fake news when you see it.
September 23Rd, 10am EST: Logging Out: Preparing your Digital Life for End of Life
Learn how to prepare your digital accounts for end of life. Find out how to designate legacy contacts, memorialize accounts, and discover best practices for ensuring your documents and information are safe.
October 28th, 10am EST: Accessing Government Services Online
Discover how to navigate Government of Canada websites safely and securely. This workshop will guide you through essential online services, including renewing your passport, updating your address, accessing pension information, and more. Gain confidence in managing important government tasks online with ease.
